Update 6/18/2012
Hello from Susan Marlowe, CPA! Well, Summer is looking up. “Brave” is coming out soon and I will be first in line to see it. We all know know that I love family movies and Pixar films are certainly some of the best family films to come out in recent memory. There has just been one issue: they all feature guys in the lead. Now, I have no problem with guys being the main characters but girls need a little representation here! That’s why “Brave” is exciting. It features Pixar’s very first heroine. I love the way Pixar tells its stories and teaches lessons without being preachy. It will be nice for little girls to be able to have a figure in the lead who reflects them. Previous female characters in Pixar films have been spunky, bold and fun. I am expecting “Brave” to deliver more of the same and then some.

Stay posted. I will be giving a Susan Marlowe review of Mirror, Mirror. That was, if you will recall, one of the two Snow White films to be released this year. I will also be comparing it to Snow White and the Huntsman. Which was more family-friendly? Which one had a better message for girls? Which film do the kids like better? Which one is better for the parents? Much to do!
