Susan Marlowe CPA Reviews Bringing Up Baby

May 14, 2012

Greetings from Susan Marlowe CPA! I am going to start reviewing some classic movies. Too cool, yes? I think people are sometimes afraid that kids won’t like black and white movies, that they may find them strange or boring. In fact, kids just love older films as long as you make good choices for them and keep the tastes of the individual child in mind.

I decided to show my niece, Kimi, that there are more films in the world than Gregory Peck films. I decided to show her Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn in “Bringing Up Baby”. Kimi absolutely loved it! The screwball comedy and hilarious performances really charmed her. I think “Bringing Up Baby” is one of the best choices for introducing children to the joys of black and white films.

I think part of what charmed Kimi was the looniness of Katherine Hepburn’s character. The ultimate dizzy dame. And she has a perfect foil in the form of Cary Grant, who plays the stiff straightman who is horrified at the chaos she has caused.

So, if you want to introduce your little one to classic films give “Bringing Up Baby” a try.

Thanks from Susan Marlowe CPA!
